Insight Investment. Transforming Fund Data Access with Advanced Analytics

The Challenge
Insight Investment, a global leader in investment solutions, needed a more effective platform to deliver critical fund data to their investors while meeting strict regulatory obligations. Their existing platform was underperforming, especially in terms of presenting complex fund data in a user-friendly and accessible way. As a result, Insight sought to develop a new digital platform that would not only enhance communication but also provide advanced data analytics capabilities for their fund managers and investors.
The platform needed to display up-to-date fund data in a dynamic and easily interpretable format, allowing users to filter, visualise, and analyse performance data efficiently. Security and data integrity were key priorities to ensure that sensitive financial data was protected, while also making it accessible for both internal and external users.
Our Approach
Data-Driven Dashboard Development: One of the key elements of the new platform was the development of a custom dashboard to visualise complex fund data. My team and I worked closely with Insight’s team to create a solution that allowed users to filter, tabulate, and chart fund performance information in real-time, making the data actionable for both fund managers and investors. The dashboard also enabled advanced analytics, allowing users to track trends, compare funds, and gain insights into performance metrics.
Enhanced Data Visualisation: We prioritised the creation of intuitive data visualisations that turned raw financial data into actionable insights. My team worked to ensure that users could easily view key performance indicators (KPIs) and drill down into detailed reports, making it easier to assess fund performance and make informed investment decisions.
Security and Data Integrity: Given the sensitive nature of the financial data, we implemented rigorous security protocols to protect the integrity of the data. All fund data was encrypted, and the platform was designed to comply with industry standards for data protection, ensuring that sensitive information was handled securely.
Collaboration with Insight's Marketing and Communications Team: I worked closely with Insight’s Marketing and Communications team to enhance digital engagement and improve the measurement of data usage. By integrating analytics capabilities into the platform, we enabled Insight to better understand how their audience interacted with fund data, providing them with the insights necessary to improve user engagement and refine their communications strategies.
